The ACCUPRO 12180566 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hard alloy workpieces. It features a 3/8-inch diameter, a 0.0200-inch corner radius, and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating that improves heat resistance and tool life at elevated cutting speeds. With four flutes, a 40-degree helix angle, and a right-hand spiral flute direction, the tool is engineered for efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral and slot milling. This tool is sized for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This end mill is suited for milling operations in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments where corner radius profiles are required to reduce stress concentrations at part corners. The 7/8-inch length of cut and 2-1/2-inch overall length make it well matched for shallow-to-moderate depth passes in steel, stainless steel, titanium, and other hard materials where the AlTiN coating provides thermal protection. Variable index flute spacing helps suppress chatter during demanding cuts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 3/8-inch straight shank.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the 3/8-inch shank fully into a clean, appropriately sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention system per the holder manufacturer specification. Inspect the corner radius and flute edges for chips or coating damage before each use. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are set for the specific workpiece material before beginning the cut.
