The ACCUPRO 12180556 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it handles high-heat, high-speed cutting in hardened steels, stainless, cast iron, and exotic alloys. The 0.02 inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in finish and semi-finish passes. With a 1/4 inch diameter, 3/8 inch length of cut, and 2 inch overall length, this is a compact, high-performance tool suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances are required. Installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This end mill is sized for light to medium material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 4-flute, single-end, centercutting geometry allows plunge entry and supports both slotting and profiling operations. The right-hand flute spiral and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. Variable index flute spacing helps reduce harmonic chatter during extended cuts. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders commonly found in vertical machining centers and high-speed spindle applications.
Designed for use in standard 1/4 inch collets, ER collet chucks, and end mill holders on CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. Suited for machining hardened steels, stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, and high-temperature alloys where AlTiN coating performance is advantageous.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank fully within the collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening — insufficient shank engagement is a leading cause of tool pull-out. Ensure the spindle and machine are in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type.
