The ACCUPRO 12180530 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, this tool delivers extended tool life and heat resistance in demanding cutting applications. The 0.015-inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, improving surface finish on profiled workpieces. At 3/8 inch in diameter with a 5/8-inch length of cut and 2-inch overall length, it is sized for general-purpose contouring, slotting, and finishing passes. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry. This tool is installed and operated by machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators.
This end mill is suited for ferrous and hardened material applications where heat buildup is a concern. The AlTiN coating performs well in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting environments, making it appropriate for high-speed machining of steel, stainless steel, and similar alloys. The single-end, right-hand cutting configuration fits standard collet and end mill holder setups on vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills. Variable index flute spacing helps reduce harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-production end mill compatible with 3/8-inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting right-hand cutting tools.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with toolholder torque requirements and runout specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth and verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type.
