The ACCUPRO 12180473 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 2-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 5 inch overall length with a matching 3/4 inch shank diameter. The four-flute, right-hand spiral configuration runs at a 40-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating enhances surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in demanding cuts. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the rigidity needed for tight-tolerance work. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill suits a wide range of milling applications including slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Its centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole. The 40-degree helix and spiral flute geometry make it particularly well suited for medium-to-high-speed passes in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened alloys where chip control and surface finish are priorities.
Designed as a standard 3/4 inch shank square end mill compatible with ER, CAT, BT, and HSK toolholders accepting 3/4 inch shanks on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the recommended minimum insertion depth per the toolholder manufacturer and torque set screws or collet nuts to the toolholder specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use; carbide end mills are brittle and should never be dropped or stored in contact with other tooling.
