The ACCUPRO 12180415 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. With a 5/32 inch (0.1562 inch) cutting diameter and a 4-flute, spiral-flute geometry at a 40-degree helix angle, this end mill delivers efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating extends tool life by increasing surface hardness and heat resistance at elevated cutting speeds. It is a centercutting design, allowing plunge entry as well as conventional side milling. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms are the primary users.
This end mill suits general-purpose milling, slotting, profiling, and pocketing applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened alloys. The 1/2 inch length of cut supports moderate-depth passes without excessive tool deflection. With a 3/16 inch shank diameter and a 2 inch overall length, it fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found on vertical machining centers and CNC knee mills. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional spindle rotation.
Designed as a standard solid carbide square end mill with a 3/16 inch shank, compatible with collet chucks, end mill holders, and tooling systems accepting that shank diameter on vertical machining centers and CNC mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tooling system is depressurized or de-energized before changing end mills. Seat the shank to the full recommended gauge depth in the collet or holder and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
