The ACCUPRO 12179741 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding shop environments. It features a 0.5000 inch mill diameter, a 5/8 inch length of cut, and a 2-1/2 inch overall length. The three-flute, right-hand spiral design runs at a 40-degree helix angle and carries an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) finish, which improves heat resistance and tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the rigidity needed for aggressive material removal while maintaining edge sharpness. This is a centercutting tool, allowing for direct plunge entry into workpieces without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
