The ACCUPRO 12179713 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metal cutting and machining applications. With a 0.25 inch cutting diameter, a 1.25 inch length of cut, and a 40-degree helix angle, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating adds heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in high-speed and dry-cutting conditions. It is a centercutting design, allowing plunge entry as well as conventional side milling. Machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators install and run this tool type in production and job shop environments.
This end mill suits vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC milling machines where a long-reach, three-flute solid carbide tool is required. The 1.25 inch length of cut supports deeper slot and pocket milling without requiring a longer overall tool. The spiral flute geometry with right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction is the standard configuration for the majority of milling setups. Micrograin carbide substrate provides the toughness and edge retention needed in demanding cuts on steel, stainless, aluminum, and similar materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill for standard 1/4 inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems on vertical and horizontal milling machines accepting a 0.25 inch shank diameter.
This tool is installed and changed by machinists and CNC operators following standard toolroom lockout and machine-stop procedures before any tool change. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the holder per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the collet or holder bore for runout before tightening, as excess runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
