The ACCUPRO 12179685 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter with a 0.02 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in hardened and abrasive materials. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 35-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting. A TiCN coating adds hardness and lubricity, making this end mill well-suited for ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The stub length configuration and centercutting design allow for both plunge and peripheral milling operations.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines for profiling, slotting, and contouring work. The 0.02 inch corner radius makes it appropriate for applications that require a controlled blend radius on part features rather than a sharp 90-degree edge. Typical applications include die and mold work, aerospace components, and general precision part production where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are required. The single-end design is standard for this class of carbide tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for 1/2 inch shank tool holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines requiring a corner radius end mill with a 1/2 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 1/2 inch shank fully into a compatible collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cutting operation, as excessive runout accelerates wear and degrades surface finish.
