The ACCUPRO 12179676 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 3/8 inch diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.02 inch corner radius that blends floor and wall transitions to reduce stress concentration and extend part life. The tool is coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) for elevated heat resistance and wear performance in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. With a 35-degree helix angle and three right-hand spiral flutes, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. This end mill is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into the workpiece. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling professionals in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is suited for milling ferrous metals, hardened steels, stainless alloys, and cast iron where corner radius geometry is required to prevent sharp corner chipping on the workpiece. Typical applications include contour milling, profiling, and slotting operations on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The AlTiN coating makes it particularly effective in high-temperature cutting scenarios without coolant. The regular-length flute type and 3/8 inch shank diameter fit standard ER and end mill holders used across most CNC and manual setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for 3/8 inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders used on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills requiring a corner radius single-end carbide end mill.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Verify holder runout and clamping torque according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications before cutting. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition prior to each use to avoid premature tool failure or dimensional error.
