The ACCUPRO 12179348 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) mill diameter with a 0.01 inch corner radius and a 3/8 inch length of cut, making it well-suited for profiling, slotting, and contouring where a controlled edge radius is required. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as lateral passes. An AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. This tool is intended for use by machinists and toolroom technicians running CNC machining centers or manual mills.
This end mill is applied in precision machining environments where a small corner radius is needed to reduce stress concentrations at part features. The 40-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces in ferrous alloys, stainless steels, and high-temperature alloys. With a 2 inch overall length and a 3/16 inch shank diameter matching the cutting diameter, it fits standard collet toolholding systems used in both production and prototype machining. Installation is performed by qualified machinists using a collet or end mill holder matched to the 3/16 inch shank diameter. Verify shank seating depth and collet runout before cutting to stay within the stated shank diameter tolerance. Ensure the spindle and machine are at a full stop before inserting or removing the tool. Follow shop-standard speeds and feeds for the coating and workpiece material; AlTiN-coated carbide tools are typically run dry or with air blast rather than flood coolant in high-temperature alloy applications.
