The ACCUPRO 12179294 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining applications. With a 0.625-inch diameter and a 3-inch length of cut, this single-end tool delivers deep-reach capability in a rigid carbide body. The nACRo coating provides enhanced heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. Four right-hand spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments rely on this geometry for contour milling, profiling, and 3D surfacing work.
This end mill is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a ball-nose profile is required for 3D contour work, radius floor features, and die-and-mold applications. The micrograin carbide substrate supports higher surface footage and feeds compared to conventional carbide grades. The 40-degree helix is well matched to medium-to-hard workpiece materials. The 0.625-inch shank diameter matches the cutter diameter, allowing use in standard collet chucks, hydraulic holders, and shrink-fit toolholding systems designed for that bore size.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard 0.625-inch bore collet chucks, hydraulic holders, or shrink-fit toolholders. Suitable for milling ferrous alloys, hardened steels, and similar materials where a ball-nose carbide end mill with an advanced coating is specified.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the holder to the recommended gauge length and torque the clamping mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout at the cutting edge with a dial indicator before commencing a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and reduce surface finish quality.
