The ACCUPRO 12179276 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precision milling of contoured surfaces, complex 3D profiles, and finish passes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, the tool delivers rigidity and edge retention well beyond HSS alternatives. The 0.125 inch diameter cutting head pairs with a 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry at a 40-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An nACRo coating adds thermal resistance and lubricity, extending tool life in hardened steels and difficult alloys. This tool is sized for CNC machining centers and manual mills requiring tight-tolerance small-diameter work.
The 12179276 suits production and job-shop environments where small-diameter ball milling is required on molds, dies, aerospace components, and medical parts. With a 0.75 inch length of cut and a 2.25 inch overall length, it fits standard tool holders with a 0.125 inch shank bore. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with conventional CNC spindle rotation. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in materials such as hardened tool steel, stainless steel, and titanium will find the nACRo coating and micrograin substrate particularly suited to those applications.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for 0.125 inch shank, 4-flute ball end mills in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting standard 1/8 inch collets or end mill holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician following the machine tool manufacturer's setup procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention mechanism to the machine manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as runout in small-diameter carbide end mills accelerates premature breakage.
