The ACCUPRO 12179230 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precision milling of contoured surfaces, cavities, and complex 3D profiles in a wide range of workpiece materials. It features a 0.2812 inch (9/32 inch) cutting diameter and a 0.75 inch length of cut, with a 4-flute spiral geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. The tool is manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, which delivers superior hardness and heat resistance compared to high-speed steel alternatives. A 40-degree helix angle supports aggressive chip removal while maintaining cutting edge stability. Applied nACRo coating reduces friction and extends tool life in demanding applications. Installed by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, stainless, and similar materials where a tight tolerance and fine surface finish are required. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard CNC machining center spindles and manual mills. The 5/16 inch shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders commonly used in vertical machining centers and knee mills. It is a single-end tool, meaning the cutting geometry is on one end only, which is the standard configuration for precision profiling and finishing passes.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new-stock selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills using standard 5/16 inch collet chucks or end mill holders with right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as carbide tools are brittle and susceptible to breakage if dropped or improperly handled.
