The ACCUPRO 12179069 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining applications. The cutter measures 5/16 inches in diameter with a 1 inch length of cut and a 4 inch overall length, keeping the tool compact and rigid for accurate slotting, profiling, and contouring. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. A nACRo finish coating improves surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in demanding ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machining professionals and CNC operators install this end mill in standard milling machines and machining centers requiring a 5/16 inch shank.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling in shop and production environments. The centercutting geometry allows plunge cuts directly into the workpiece. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for conventional vertical and horizontal milling setups. With a micrograin carbide substrate, this tool performs well in hardened steels, alloy steels, and cast iron at elevated feeds and speeds. It is sold individually and is appropriate for job shops, tool rooms, and production machining operations.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 5/16 inch straight shank end mill with a 40-degree helix, 4-flute configuration.
A licensed machinist or CNC operator should install this end mill using an appropriate collet or end mill holder rated for the 5/16 inch shank diameter. Confirm the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Inspect the collet and holder for runout before operation. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety codes when setting feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
