The ACCUPRO 12179058 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, alloy, and composite materials. With a 9/32-inch (0.2812-inch) mill diameter and a 4-flute spiral configuration, this tool delivers clean, accurate cuts in a wide range of machining setups. The 40-degree helix angle improves chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces, while the nACRo finish provides enhanced wear resistance and heat protection during high-speed operations. It is center-cutting capable, allowing direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Machinists and toolroom operators working with CNC mills and manual knee mills will find this end mill suited to slotting, profiling, and finishing passes.
This end mill is built for applications where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are critical. The micrograin carbide substrate supports higher feed rates and longer tool life compared to standard carbide grades. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry is standard for conventional milling machine spindles. With a 5/16-inch shank diameter and a 3-inch overall length, it fits standard collets and end mill holders commonly found in light-duty CNC machining centers and manual mills used in job shops, maintenance toolrooms, and precision fabrication environments.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for 5/16-inch collets and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills requiring a 9/32-inch square end mill profile.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the shank. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder that matches the 5/16-inch shank diameter and torque the retention mechanism according to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and do not exceed the tool's rated depth-of-cut or feed parameters for the material being machined.
