The ACCUPRO 12179055 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It measures 3/16 inch in diameter with a 1 inch length of cut and a 2-1/2 inch overall length. The tool carries a nACRo finish, which improves wear resistance and thermal stability at higher cutting speeds. Four spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the rigidity needed to hold tight tolerances in finish and semi-finish milling passes. This end mill is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill suits applications in job shops, production machining, and maintenance environments where small-diameter, high-precision cuts are required. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, expanding its use to slotting, profiling, and pocket milling operations. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC and manual milling setups. The 3/16 inch shank diameter matches the tool diameter, keeping the setup straightforward in standard collets or end mill holders.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting 3/16 inch shank diameter end mills in ER collets, end mill holders, or equivalent toolholding systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use.
