The ACCUPRO 12179039 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter with a 2-1/4 inch length of cut, making it well-suited for moderate-depth slot milling, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. The 4-flute spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining a strong cutting edge. The nACRo coating provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability at elevated cutting speeds. This end mill is centercutting, allowing it to plunge directly into a workpiece. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production machining, and toolroom environments are the primary users.
This end mill is intended for use in vertical and horizontal milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual mills. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration make it compatible with standard spindle setups. The micrograin carbide substrate supports tighter tolerances and longer tool life compared to standard grain carbide. Typical applications include slot milling, contouring, face milling, and plunge operations where a rigid, general-purpose end mill is required. The 3/4 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets, end mill holders, and Weldon-style toolholders commonly found in production and toolroom environments.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 3/4 inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and Weldon-style toolholders across CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle is locked before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended engagement depth before torquing the set screw or clamping the collet. Verify runout at the tool tip with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and degrades surface finish.
