The ACCUPRO 12179037 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, 2 inch length of cut, and 4 inch overall length, this single-end tool is built for precision material removal in a wide range of machining operations. The four-flute spiral configuration combined with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The nACRo coating provides enhanced wear resistance and lubricity, extending tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. Licensed machinists and CNC operators rely on this geometry for general-purpose and finishing passes in steel, stainless steel, and hardened alloys.
This end mill suits vertical machining centers, CNC milling machines, and manual knee mills in job shop, toolroom, and production environments. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, making it practical for slotting, side milling, and pocket interpolation. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional spindle setups. The 1/2 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets, side-lock holders, and shrink-fit toolholders commonly found in both light and heavy-duty machining setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use tool for standard 1/2 inch toolholders including ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit holders on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with toolholder torque procedures and runout verification. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully within the holder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer. Verify runout at the tool tip with a dial indicator before beginning the cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
