The ACCUPRO 12179001 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metal, alloy, and composite materials. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with an nACRo finish for extended tool life and heat resistance, this end mill features a 4-flute, spiral-flute geometry with a 40-degree helix angle. It measures 0.1094 inches (7/64 inch) in cutting diameter with a 3/16-inch length of cut and a 1/8-inch shank diameter. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry, making this tool versatile for slotting, profiling, and ramping operations. Machinists and toolroom operators working in job shop and production environments rely on this configuration for tight-tolerance finish work.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and precision milling fixtures where small-diameter tooling is required. The 7/64-inch diameter makes it appropriate for fine slot cutting, pocket milling, and contouring in small-feature workpieces. The nACRo coating provides improved lubricity and oxidation resistance, making it effective in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting conditions on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 1-1/2-inch overall length provides adequate reach for standard applications without sacrificing rigidity at this diameter.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills using 1/8-inch shank collet systems. Fits standard ER11 and ER16 collet chucks accommodating 1/8-inch shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the full recommended collet engagement depth to minimize runout and prevent pullout during cutting. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated depth of cut for this diameter, as small-diameter carbide end mills are susceptible to breakage under side load.
