The ACCUPRO 12178978 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and engineered plastics. Built from micrograin carbide stock, this center-cutting tool runs a 40-degree helix angle and a spiral flute geometry that promotes chip evacuation and reduces chatter at higher feed rates. The nACRo physical vapor deposition finish adds surface hardness and thermal resistance, extending tool life in demanding cuts. At 0.3437 inches in cutting diameter with a 7/8-inch length of cut, this end mill suits slotting, profiling, and plunge operations on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians are the primary users.
This end mill fits production and job-shop environments where close-tolerance finishing passes or aggressive roughing cycles are required. The 3/8-inch shank diameter mounts directly into standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, or shrink-fit toolholders. The 2-1/2-inch overall length keeps the tool rigid in shallow-to-moderate depth applications. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry follow standard CNC spindle conventions. Confirm shank seating depth meets the toolholder manufacturer minimum engagement specification before tightening.
