The ACCUPRO 12178926 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. With a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) cutting diameter and a 2 inch length of cut, this single-end tool delivers consistent material removal across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous applications. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The nACRo coating adds wear resistance and thermal stability, extending tool life in demanding cut conditions. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shop, production, and tool-and-die settings.
This end mill suits applications requiring a right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral. The 3-flute geometry balances chip load and surface finish, making it a practical choice for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in materials where tool rigidity and edge retention matter. With a 4 inch overall length and a 7/16 inch shank diameter, it fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders used on vertical machining centers and CNC mills. The micrograin carbide substrate supports higher feed rates and improved edge sharpness compared to standard carbide grades.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for 7/16 inch diameter square end mills in standard collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and end mill holders with a 7/16 inch bore, on vertical machining centers and CNC milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for toolholder torque and runout specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Verify collet or holder bore matches the 7/16 inch shank diameter and that the tool is seated to the recommended gauge length before securing. Confirm cutting parameters including spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut are set appropriately for the workpiece material before initiating a cut.
