The ACCUPRO 12178902 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling in demanding machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide and finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, this tool handles hard materials and elevated cutting temperatures with reduced wear. The 1/32 inch cutting diameter and 1/16 inch length of cut make it well suited for fine-detail work, micro-slot milling, and tight-tolerance profiling. Three spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments install this tool in high-speed machining centers and CNC mills.
This end mill is intended for micro-milling operations where small cutter diameters are required. Typical applications include engraving, slotting, contouring, and finish passes on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The AlTiN coating extends tool life when cutting hardened steels, stainless, and titanium alloys. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and tool holders commonly found in CNC machining centers. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the industry-standard orientation for conventional CNC spindle direction.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Verify collet size matches the 1/8 inch shank before seating the tool, and confirm runout with a dial indicator after tightening to minimize deflection at this small diameter. At 1/32 inch cutting diameter, excessive side load or incorrect feeds and speeds will cause tool breakage — consult the manufacturer cutting data for this tool geometry before running.
