The ACCUPRO 12178892 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It measures 7/16 inches in diameter with a 1-inch length of cut, a 7/16-inch shank diameter, and a 2-3/4-inch overall length. The three-flute geometry with a 40-degree helix angle and spiral flute design promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The nACRo finish provides a hard, low-friction coating that extends tool life in demanding cutting conditions. This is a centercutting tool, allowing plunge entry as well as conventional slot and profile milling. It is manufactured from micrograin solid carbide for consistent edge sharpness and wear resistance.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills used in job shop, tool-and-die, and production environments. The regular-length configuration makes it a practical choice for general-purpose slot milling, shoulder milling, and contouring operations. Its right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are the standard orientation for most spindle configurations. Machinists working with hardened steels, stainless alloys, and high-temperature materials will find the nACRo coating particularly beneficial for extending run time between tool changes.
Designed as a standard-shank solid carbide square end mill compatible with ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style tool holders accepting a 7/16-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's runout and torque specifications for the holder type in use. Ensure the spindle and tool holder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Confirm shank engagement depth meets the holder manufacturer's minimum requirement before tightening. Verify spindle rotation direction is right-hand before initiating a cut.
