The ACCUPRO 12178888 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in milling operations. With a 23/64 inch (0.3594 inch) cutting diameter and three spiral flutes cut at a 40-degree helix angle, this end mill delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action in a variety of workpiece materials. The nACRo coating provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal protection at the cutting edge. With a 7/8 inch length of cut and a 3/8 inch shank diameter, it fits standard milling machine and machining center collets used in job shops, toolrooms, and production environments. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a tight-tolerance square shoulder finish is required. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional and climb milling on vertical machining centers and manual knee mills alike. Micrograin carbide construction supports tighter diameter tolerances and longer tool life compared to standard carbide grades.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-purchase solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 3/8 inch collet chucks or end mill holders on vertical machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation of end mills should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the 3/8 inch shank fully within the collet or end mill holder to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth before tightening. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool to confirm concentricity before beginning a cut.
