The ACCUPRO 12178850 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and hard material applications. With a 0.25-inch cutting diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length, this tool delivers consistent geometry and tight tolerances straight from the package. The nACRo finish improves wear resistance and heat dissipation, extending tool life in high-speed and dry-cutting environments. A 40-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation, reducing heat buildup at the cutting edge. Machinists, tool-and-die shops, and CNC operators are the primary users of this end mill.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and finishing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in both manual and CNC machining centers. The 2-flute configuration provides adequate chip clearance when cutting softer materials or when deep slots require aggressive evacuation. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation match the standard spindle rotation of the vast majority of vertical and horizontal machining centers in production environments.
Designed as a standard shank end mill for use in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and similar machine tools accepting a 0.25-inch round shank via collet or end mill holder.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Always power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended insertion depth before torquing the retention hardware. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before each use, and verify runout with a dial indicator after tool changes to prevent premature wear or workpiece damage.
