The ACCUPRO 12178844 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.375-inch mill diameter, a 1.375-inch length of cut, and a 3.0-inch overall length, this tool delivers consistent material removal in a compact, rigid package. The micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance suited to demanding cutting conditions. A 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The nACRo finish enhances surface hardness and thermal resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Installation and use are handled by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in vertical and horizontal machining centers, as well as manual knee mills. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration are standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation. The 0.375-inch shank diameter fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders common in both production and prototype machining setups. It is appropriate for milling steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and similar materials where a nACRo-coated micrograin carbide tool is recommended.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for 0.375-inch ER collet chucks, side-lock holders, and shrink-fit toolholders in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the published torque specification for the toolholder type in use, and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for maximum RPM and feed rates based on material and depth of cut.
