The ACCUPRO 12178822 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 2-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 5 inch overall length, making it well-suited for both slotting and peripheral milling. The nACRo finish provides enhanced wear resistance and heat reduction at the cutting edge. With a 40-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry, this tool evacuates chips efficiently and maintains stable cutting action. It is a centercutting design, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece. The micrograin carbide substrate contributes to edge retention in demanding materials.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool with a 3/4 inch shank diameter that fits standard ER collet chucks, side-lock holders, and shrink-fit toolholders. Typical applications include profiling, contouring, slotting, and pocketing operations in job shops, production machining, and toolroom environments. Machinists and CNC operators select this geometry when working with steel, stainless, or high-temperature alloys where a longer length of cut is required.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new installation for standard 3/4 inch shank toolholders used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills requiring a 2-flute square end mill with a 3/4 inch cutting diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secure in a properly sized collet or toolholder before operation. Verify runout after installation to maintain dimensional accuracy and extend tool life. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for feeds, speeds, and depth of cut appropriate to the workpiece material.
