The ACCUPRO 12178812 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling operations in metal cutting, die/mold work, and general machining applications. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter with a 2-flute spiral configuration and a 40-degree helix angle, delivering aggressive chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The micrograin carbide substrate provides hardness and edge retention at elevated cutting speeds. An nACRo coating reduces friction and heat buildup, extending tool life in demanding materials. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge milling entries in addition to standard peripheral and slot milling operations.
This end mill suits CNC machining centers and manual mills in job shop, production, and tool-and-die environments. The 2-1/4 inch length of cut and 5 inch overall length make it well-suited for medium-depth cavities and pocketing operations where reach beyond a standard stub configuration is required. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional vertical and horizontal milling setups. It is intended for use by machinists and tooling specialists working in steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and similar ferrous materials typical for this coating and substrate combination.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit tooling option for standard 1 inch straight-shank tool holders, collet chucks, and end mill adapters used on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 1 inch shank fully into the holder to the minimum clamping depth required by the holder manufacturer, and torque the retention fastener per the holder specification. Verify runout at the cutting diameter before beginning the cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
