The ACCUPRO 12178807 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking and machining applications. With a 1/32 inch (0.0312 inch) cutting diameter and a 1/8 inch length of cut, this tool handles fine-detail slotting, profiling, and contouring where tight tolerances are required. The micrograin carbide substrate provides hardness and edge retention. A titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating adds surface hardness and reduces friction, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers and users of this tooling.
This end mill is suited for small-diameter milling work on CNC machining centers and manual mills across job shops, production floors, and tool rooms. Its centercutting geometry allows for plunge entry, adding versatility for pocketing operations. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces, making it appropriate for finishing passes in tight features and small cavities typical in mold work, aerospace components, and precision part manufacturing.
Designed for use in standard 1/8 inch collets and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and conventional milling machines requiring small-diameter square end tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully in the collet or tool holder and torque the retention nut according to the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts, as runout is especially critical at small diameters.
