The ACCUPRO 12178799 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling operations in metal, composite, and hard material applications. With a 29/64 inch (0.4531 inch) cutting diameter and a 2-flute spiral design, this end mill delivers efficient chip evacuation and clean, precise cuts. The 40-degree helix angle reduces cutting forces and improves surface finish, while the nACRo finish provides enhanced wear resistance and heat protection during aggressive material removal. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this end mill for profiling, slotting, and pocket milling operations requiring tight tolerances.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills in job shop, production, and toolroom environments. The 1/2 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The 5/8 inch length of cut and 2-1/2 inch overall length make it appropriate for moderate-depth profiling and slotting where rigidity and tool life are priorities. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional spindle rotation on most CNC and manual milling equipment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for 1/2 inch shank end mill holders and ER-style collet chucks used in CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the end mill from the tool holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated to the recommended gauge-line depth in the holder to maximize rigidity and minimize runout. Follow tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut parameters appropriate to the workpiece material.
