The ACCUPRO 12178793 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 11/32 inch (0.3437 inch) cutting diameter, a 5/8 inch length of cut, and a 3/8 inch shank diameter with a 2 inch overall length. The nACRo finish enhances wear resistance and heat dissipation, extending tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The 40-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and reduce cutting forces. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in job shop, production, and maintenance environments.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in ferrous alloys, stainless steel, and hardened materials where an nACRo coating provides thermal and chemical resistance. The centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional and climb milling passes. Its micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances and consistent surface finishes in both manual mill and CNC machining center applications.
Designed as a standard shank square end mill compatible with 3/8 inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders used in vertical machining centers, CNC knee mills, and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolsetting technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Verify collet or holder bore matches the 3/8 inch shank diameter and that the tool is seated to the correct gauge length before clamping. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
