The ACCUPRO 12178785 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and hard material applications. Built from micrograin carbide, it measures 0.2188 inches (7/32 inch) in cutting diameter with a 3/8-inch length of cut and a 1/4-inch shank diameter. Overall length is 2 inches. The nACRo coating provides enhanced wear resistance and lubricity, making it well suited for high-speed cutting in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 40-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry, it promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this type of tooling in production and job shop environments.
This end mill is a single-end, center-cutting design with two flutes, right-hand cut, and right-hand flute direction. The center-cutting geometry allows it to plunge directly into workpiece material as well as perform side milling and slotting operations. It is suited for use in CNC machining centers, CNC knee mills, and manual milling machines where tight tolerances and a clean finish are required. The 0.2188-inch diameter makes it appropriate for small-feature work, narrow slots, and detailed contouring in die and mold work, aerospace components, and precision mechanical parts.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard 1/4-inch collets and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the specified collet or end mill holder torque requirements per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation before beginning a cutting operation, and confirm cutting parameters — speed, feed, and depth of cut — are appropriate for the workpiece material and machine capability.
