The ACCUPRO 12178783 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metal, composites, and engineered plastics. It features a 7/64 inch (0.1094 inch) cutting diameter, a 3/16 inch length of cut, and a 1/8 inch shank diameter, with an overall length of 1.5 inches. The 2-flute spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup at the cutting edge. The nACRo finish adds wear resistance for extended tool life in demanding applications. This end mill is right-hand cut with right-hand flutes and is centercutting, allowing plunge entry. It is sized for light-duty precision work and is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for finish milling, slotting, and profiling passes in small-feature work where tight tolerances are required. The micrograin carbide substrate handles harder workpiece materials and maintains edge geometry longer than standard carbide grades. The 7/64 inch diameter makes it a practical choice for detail milling in mold work, tool and die applications, aerospace components, and precision mechanical parts. The centercutting design allows direct plunge into the workpiece without a pre-drilled start hole, adding flexibility to multi-axis and 2.5D contouring operations.
Designed as a standard shank end mill compatible with 1/8 inch collets and tool holders used in CNC machining centers, CNC routers, and manual milling machines requiring a 1/8 inch straight shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and at a complete stop before inserting or removing the tool from the collet or tool holder. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder to achieve the recommended shank clamping length and minimize runout. Verify tool projection and clearances before initiating any cutting cycle.
