The ACCUPRO 12178745 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.1719-inch (11/64 inch) cutting diameter and a 0.6250-inch length of cut, this two-flute tool is built for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in tight geometries. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. A nACRo finish enhances wear resistance and extends tool life in abrasive and hardened materials. Micrograin carbide construction provides the rigidity and edge retention required for demanding cutting conditions. This end mill is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC and manual milling operations.
This end mill suits small-diameter milling work in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including steel alloys, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum. Its centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, enabling ramping and drilling operations in addition to standard milling passes. The 3/16-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders used in vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. Its 2-inch overall length keeps the tool compact and minimizes deflection during close-tolerance work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/16-inch shank collet or end mill holder.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists using an appropriate collet or end mill holder rated for the 3/16-inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle and machine are fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool, and confirm shank engagement depth meets the holder manufacturer's minimum requirement. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the workpiece material and tool diameter.
