The ACCUPRO 12178717 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with AlTiN (Aluminum Titanium Nitride), it handles elevated cutting temperatures and abrasive materials with consistent tool life. The 7-flute geometry provides a high chip load per revolution, supporting faster feed rates and improved surface finish compared to lower-flute-count equivalents. At 3/8 inches in diameter with a 0.03-inch corner radius, this tool reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and extends edge life in materials prone to chipping or micro-fracture. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers and users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for finish milling, semi-finish milling, and profiling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-hardness alloys. The 1-1/4-inch length of cut accommodates typical side-wall and slot depths encountered in die, mold, and precision component work. The right-hand spiral flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional CNC vertical machining center setups. Variable index geometry reduces harmonic chatter during cuts, making it effective in long-reach or thin-wall conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter toolholder.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC technicians using standard collet chucks, ER-style collets, or hydraulic toolholders sized for a 3/8-inch shank. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are fully de-energized and at rest before tool changes. Inspect the collet bore and shank for chips or contamination before seating the tool. Consult the machine tool manufacturer and cutting tool supplier guidelines for appropriate speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut parameters for the specific workpiece material.
