The ACCUPRO 12178716 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling operations in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), this tool delivers excellent hardness and heat resistance at elevated cutting speeds. The 7-flute geometry provides a high chip load capacity and superior surface finish on ferrous and hard materials. At 3/8 inches in diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius, it is well suited for finishing passes and light profiling where edge integrity and dimensional consistency are critical. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install and apply this tool in production and job shop settings.
This end mill is designed for use in vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers as well as manual milling machines capable of holding tight runout tolerances. The single-end, centercutting configuration allows for plunge entry and full slot milling in addition to peripheral profiling. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional and climb milling on modern CNC equipment. Typical applications include finishing hardened steels, stainless alloys, and titanium where the AlTiN coating provides thermal stability and extended tool life.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use tool for CNC machining centers and manual mills with a 3/8 inch collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit tooling system.
Installation and operation of this end mill should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC programmer. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank to the full recommended engagement depth. Verify runout at the cutting edge before initiating a program, as excessive runout accelerates wear on 7-flute geometry. Follow the tool manufacturer feed-and-speed recommendations for the workpiece material and adhere to applicable shop safety standards during tool changes.
