The ACCUPRO 12178713 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it handles high-temperature cutting environments where tool life and edge integrity are critical. The 7-flute geometry increases chip load capacity and surface finish quality compared to standard 4- or 5-flute tools. With a 0.02-inch corner radius and variable index flute spacing, it reduces chatter and improves dimensional consistency in finishing passes. This tool is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for high-speed finishing and semi-finishing operations on hardened steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and heat-resistant alloys. The extended reach configuration, with a 3.125-inch reach length and reduced neck diameter, allows access to deep pockets, tall workpiece features, and stepped cavity floors without interference. The centercutting design permits plunge entry, expanding its utility in contour and 3D surfacing programs. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral fluting make it compatible with standard CNC spindle configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitment for CNC machining centers and vertical mills using 1/2-inch diameter toolholders, collet chucks, or end mill holders with right-hand spindle rotation.
This tool is installed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout-tagout state before changing tooling. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder rated for 1/2-inch shank diameter and confirm runout with a dial indicator before production cuts. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type.
