The ACCUPRO 12178694 is a 7-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. With a 0.5000 inch mill diameter, a 1.25 inch length of cut, and a 3.0 inch overall length, this tool is built for aggressive material removal and fine finishing in a single setup. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life under high cutting speeds and dry or near-dry machining conditions. The 37.5 degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces, making it well suited for machinists pushing feeds and speeds on harder workpiece materials. Micrograin carbide construction delivers edge integrity and wear resistance across extended run cycles.
This end mill fits standard CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.5000 inch shank. It is configured as a single-end, centercutting tool with right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction, which allows plunge entry as well as conventional and climb milling passes. The spiral flute geometry and 7-flute count make it particularly effective in high-speed finishing and semi-finishing operations on hardened steels, stainless alloys, and other difficult-to-machine materials common in tool-and-die, aerospace, and precision parts manufacturing. It ships individually and is sold as a single unit.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines with a 0.5000 inch collet, end mill holder, or equivalent toolholding system. Length of cut range is 1.2500 to 1.5000 inches.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or collet is properly locked before inserting or removing the end mill. Use an appropriate end mill holder or precision collet to maintain runout within tolerance — excessive runout accelerates edge wear and can cause premature tool failure. Confirm correct tool offset and depth-of-cut parameters in the CNC program before initiating the first cut.
