The ACCUPRO 12178679 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining applications. With a 3/4 inch diameter, a 2.5 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius, this tool is built for high-accuracy contouring, slotting, and peripheral milling. The 5-flute geometry improves chip evacuation and surface finish compared to lower flute-count tools. AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in hard and abrasive materials. A 40 degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduced vibration. This end mill is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into a workpiece and is ready for use from one end only.
This end mill is suited for machinists working in job shops, aerospace, die and mold, and precision manufacturing environments. It performs well in steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys where AlTiN coating excels. The centercutting capability makes it suitable for ramping and plunging operations. The 3/4 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling designed for that shank size. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional CNC milling setups.
Designed for use in standard 3/4 inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and shrink-fit tooling systems compatible with a 3/4 inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC machining centers running right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists using appropriate toolholding equipment rated for the shank diameter and intended cutting speeds. Ensure the toolholder and spindle are clean and free of debris before seating the end mill. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cutting to avoid premature tool wear or dimensional error. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut when setting up this tool.
