The ACCUPRO 12178636 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 1/8 inch diameter with a 1/2 inch length of cut and a 0.01 inch corner radius, making it well suited for producing smooth, radiused profiles at the base of milled features. The 5-flute geometry combined with a right-hand spiral flute and variable index design supports improved surface finish and reduced chatter at higher feed rates. An AlTiN coating provides heat and oxidation resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. This end mill is centercutting and capable of plunge entry.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight-tolerance profiling, slotting, and contouring are required. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collet systems and tool holders used in light-duty precision work. The 1-1/2 inch overall length keeps overhang minimal, supporting rigidity during cuts in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials. Machinists and tool and die technicians working on mold cavities, detailed contours, or hardened workpieces will find this tool appropriate for their setups.
Designed as a standard 1/8 inch shank end mill compatible with ER collets, precision chucks, and other tool holders accepting a 1/8 inch straight shank diameter in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holding and runout. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before installing or removing the tool. Verify collet size matches the 1/8 inch shank diameter and that the tool is seated and torqued to the tool holder specification. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut.
