The ACCUPRO 12177684 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 3.375 inch length of cut, and a 0.0600 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in profiling and finishing operations. The 5-flute geometry with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining a smooth surface finish. An AlTiN coating provides excellent heat resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures, making this tool well suited for hardened steels, stainless steel, titanium, and other difficult-to-machine alloys. It is installed and used by CNC machinists and tooling professionals in production and job shop environments.
This end mill is suited for 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining centers where semi-finish and finish milling of complex profiles, pockets, and contoured surfaces is required. The centercutting design allows for plunge entry, adding versatility for ramping and helical interpolation strategies. The single-end configuration, 1 inch shank diameter, and 6 inch overall length make it appropriate for setups requiring extended reach into deep cavities or tall workpieces without sacrificing rigidity. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers accepting a 1 inch straight shank. Suitable for milling hardened steels, stainless steel, titanium, and high-temperature alloys where AlTiN coating performance is required.
Install in a properly sized end mill holder, collet chuck, or hydraulic chuck rated for the 1 inch shank diameter, and verify runout before cutting. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material and coating type before engaging the cut. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Follow applicable machine tool safety procedures and shop-floor protocols when handling carbide end mills, as edges are brittle and sharp.
