The ACCUPRO 12177679 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 0.010 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the tool tip and extends edge life. The 5-flute geometry with a 40-degree helix angle improves chip evacuation and supports higher feed rates in finishing and semi-finishing passes. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures, making this tool well suited for dry or near-dry machining. Overall length is 4 inches with a 1/2 inch shank diameter.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills where a tight corner radius is required on profiled surfaces, pockets, and contoured features. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, expanding its utility in applications that require ramping or helical interpolation. It is appropriate for shops working with alloy steels, hardened steels, stainless steels, and cast iron. The variable index flute spacing reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts, making it a practical choice for production environments running tight tolerances.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tool for CNC machining center setups requiring a 1/2 inch shank, single-end corner radius end mill with AlTiN coating and solid carbide construction.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine in a fully stopped and locked-out state. The 1/2 inch shank should be seated to the correct clamping depth in an ER collet, hydraulic chuck, or side-lock holder per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the shank and collet bore for chips or contamination before installation. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended depth-of-cut or radial engagement for the workpiece material.
