The ACCUPRO 12177517 is a solid carbide tapered end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring a consistent taper angle along the cutting length. Built from micrograin carbide stock, this tool delivers a 3-degree taper per side with a 3/8-inch small end diameter and a 3-1/4-inch length of cut. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining a smooth finish on the workpiece wall. The square end profile makes it suitable for profiling, slotting, and drafted wall features in both ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this style of cutter in CNC machining centers where draft angles are required.
This tapered end mill is suited for shops producing molds, dies, and components that require angled side walls or tapered pockets. The bright, uncoated finish makes it a straightforward choice for applications where coating compatibility with the workpiece material or cutting fluid is a concern. With a 3/4-inch shank diameter and 6-inch overall length, it accommodates setups requiring extended reach into deeper cavities or fixtures with tall workholding. Center-cutting capability allows the tool to be plunged directly into the material when the operation calls for it.
Designed as a standard tapered end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/4-inch straight shank tool holder or collet system.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool-change sequence initiated before mounting or removing the cutter. Verify that the collet or tool holder is clean and undamaged before seating the 3/4-inch shank, and confirm runout with a dial indicator after clamping. Follow the machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting feeds, speeds, and depth of cut for solid carbide tooling.
