The ACCUPRO 12177462 is a solid carbide tapered end mill designed for precision milling in metal, composites, and hard materials. It features a 1-degree taper angle per side with a 1/4 inch small end diameter and a 3/8 inch shank diameter. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral configuration provides efficient chip evacuation and a stable cut. With a 2.25 inch length of cut and 4 inch overall length, this tool handles deep-pocket and contour milling where precise wall angles are required. The micrograin carbide substrate and bright uncoated finish make it suitable for a wide range of machining applications. Machinists and CNC operators install this tool in vertical machining centers and CNC mills.
This tapered end mill is used in applications requiring angled walls, draft angles, or tapered slots in precision machined parts. It is well suited for mold and die work, aerospace component machining, and general production CNC milling. The square end geometry allows flat-bottom pocket milling with a controlled taper on the sidewalls. The centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. The 30-degree helix angle and right-hand flute direction make it appropriate for conventional and climb milling in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/8 inch straight shank end mill holder or collet.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator using an appropriate end mill holder or collet chuck sized for a 3/8 inch shank. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe state before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating to maintain dimensional accuracy. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for maximum depth of cut and feed rate for carbide tooling.
