The ACCUPRO 12177407 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in milling operations. With a 1/4 inch diameter and 6-flute geometry, it delivers a high feed rate and fine surface finish on a range of workpiece materials. The 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. At 2 inches overall length with a 3/8 inch length of cut, this tool is suited for short-reach profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling. It is centercutting and runs in a right-hand cutting direction with a right-hand flute spiral. The micrograin carbide substrate provides hardness and wear resistance for demanding cuts.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines where tight tolerances and consistent geometry are required. The bright/uncoated finish makes it well suited for non-ferrous metals, plastics, and general-purpose applications where coating adhesion or heat buildup is not a primary concern. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders commonly found in light-duty to mid-range machining setups. Machinists and toolroom operators working in production or job-shop environments will find this a straightforward general-purpose choice for short-cut-length work.
Designed as a standard 1/4 inch shank square end mill compatible with collet chucks, end mill holders, and tool holders accepting a 1/4 inch straight shank in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder to the recommended gauge line and torque the retention hardware per the holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use and verify runout with a dial indicator when tolerances are critical.
