The ACCUPRO 12177396 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and 7 variable-index flutes with a right-hand spiral and right-hand cutting direction. The nACRo coating provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability for extended tool life in difficult-to-machine alloys and hardened steels. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, making it capable of plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in job shop, aerospace, die-mold, and production machining applications.
This end mill is suited for finish and semi-finish milling operations where corner integrity and surface finish are critical. The extended reach configuration, with a 3.125 inch reach length and 0.955 inch neck diameter, allows access to deep pockets, stepped features, and complex contours without interference. The micrograin carbide substrate supports aggressive feed rates while maintaining edge stability. Typical applications include side milling, profiling, slotting, and pocket milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a controlled corner radius is required per part geometry specifications.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill compatible with standard 1 inch straight shank toolholders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit holders used in CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank; shank diameter tolerance is -0.0001 to -0.0004 inch for a precision fit. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and degrade surface finish. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidelines and always verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut.
