The ACCUPRO 12177389 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hardened materials. It features a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, 7 flutes, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in demanding applications. The AlTiN coating provides high-temperature oxidation resistance, making this end mill well suited for high-speed dry or near-dry machining. With a 37-degree helix angle and variable index geometry, it delivers improved chip evacuation and reduced chatter. This tool is used by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, aerospace, mold and die, and general metalworking environments.
This end mill is a single-end, centercutting design, allowing it to plunge directly into workpiece material as well as perform peripheral and slot milling. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders on vertical machining centers and CNC mills. Its 1-1/8 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length make it appropriate for medium-depth cavity work and profile milling on steel, stainless steel, titanium, and other difficult-to-machine alloys where heat and wear resistance are critical.
Designed for use in standard 1/4 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills. Suitable for milling ferrous alloys, hardened steels, stainless steel, titanium, and other high-temperature alloys.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet or holder and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use; a chipped or worn edge should be replaced before continuing production. Follow your machine tool manufacturer guidelines for speed, feed, and depth-of-cut parameters appropriate to the workpiece material and setup rigidity.
