The ACCUPRO 12177244 is a single-end ball end mill designed for contour milling, profiling, and 3D surfacing operations on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for hard-material cutting. The 6.00 mm cutting diameter pairs with a 40-degree helix angle and AlTiN coating to reduce heat buildup and extend tool life in ferrous metals, hardened steels, and high-temperature alloys. Four spiral flutes provide efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish on complex curved surfaces. Overall length is 100.00 mm with a 6.00 mm shank diameter, making it compatible with standard ER collet and shrink-fit tooling systems.
This end mill is suited for precision machining applications in tool-and-die, mold making, aerospace component production, and general job-shop work. The extended-reach geometry and 12.00 mm length of cut allow access to deeper cavities and pockets without sacrificing rigidity. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle configurations. The AlTiN coating is particularly effective in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting environments where heat resistance is critical. It is intended for use by machinists and CNC programmers working in production or prototype settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills using 6.00 mm ER collet, shrink-fit, or hydraulic chuck toolholders with right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lock-out state before inserting or removing tooling. Verify collet size matches the 6.00 mm shank diameter and check runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cutting program. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and coating type.
