The ACCUPRO 12177230 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and hard material applications. Built from micrograin carbide, this single-end tool features a 2-flute spiral geometry with a 40-degree helix angle and right-hand cut with right-hand flute direction. The centercutting design allows for plunge entry in addition to peripheral milling. With a mill diameter of 0.3937 inches and a long-reach configuration, this end mill suits applications where extended tool projection is required. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and plunge milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a micrograin carbide substrate provides the necessary rigidity and edge retention. The uncoated finish makes it a solid choice for applications where a specific coating is not required or where re-sharpening is anticipated. The long-reach geometry with an 83.00 mm reach length supports deep-cavity work and applications with restricted clearance. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both production runs and precision prototype machining.
Designed as a standard shank square end mill with a 10.00 mm shank diameter, compatible with collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders accepting 10 mm or 0.3937-inch shank tooling. Mill diameter tolerance is plus 0.000 / minus 0.002 inches and shank diameter tolerance is minus 0.0001 / minus 0.0004 inches.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before installing or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Seat the shank to the full recommended gauge depth in the holder and verify runout with a dial indicator before engaging the cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use.
