The ACCUPRO 12177181 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. With a 0.625-inch cutting diameter and a 1.25-inch length of cut, this tool delivers accurate ball-nose profiling for contoured surfaces, 3D milling, and finishing passes. The four-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle improves chip evacuation and surface finish at higher feed rates. The micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance suited for ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This is a single-end, long-reach tool with an extended reach length of 4.5 inches, making it well suited for deep-pocket and hard-to-reach machining applications.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where ball-nose geometry is required for profiling, contouring, and finishing operations. The long overall length of 6 inches and extended reach make it suitable for deep-cavity mold work, die machining, and aerospace or industrial component finishing. The uncoated micrograin carbide is appropriate for dry or flood-coolant cutting conditions on a range of workpiece materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers and operators of this tool.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute for solid carbide ball end mills with a 0.625-inch shank diameter in standard milling machine and CNC machining center tool holders.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. The 0.625-inch shank should be seated securely in a matching collet or end mill holder and tightened to the holder manufacturer's specified procedure. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cutting operations.
